CINDY ARCHER
Discovering Cindy is like riding a bike with no hands for the very first time, but seeing her is like going round the bend... Cindy is a rebel rouser in fishnet stockings...
With just a few chords she can honky-tonk a room full of slouches off their asses and onto the dance floor. And just as effortlessly, she can drop her scrappy-cow roots like a stone, slinking into an underwater country croon that only Cindy can deliver. She is sexy and alluring, her poetic sensibilities somehow couched in an urban twang.

An artist like Cindy keeps us from slitting our wrists with a plastic fork. In fact she forbids it. She has a wit sharper than a Ginsu and charm enough to talk the sky out of raining. Cindy earns her audiences and draws Toronto’s best musicians into her fold, all with a timeless repertoire, intuitive arrangements and flawless intonation. But what she is truly recognized for is her innovative and inspired songwriting.

Sharing the spotlight with local fames like Elliot Brood and Dan Kershaw, Cindy fronted Bluebird, a local cow-town band housing members from Made, Venus Cures All and the Touch-Stones. She currently hosts and produces her own duets night, a respected institution with a varying roster including performers such as Justin Rutledge and Colonel Tom Parker (The Back-Stabbers).

Everything sounds beautiful and important when Cindy sings it. Beer tastes better, that guy looks cuter and ten bucks suddenly appear in your back pocket. Her voice could cure a thousand hangovers, soothing the most hardened of hearts into sweet submission. Cindy has surfaced. And by God, that girl can swim...
